Fowlers Vacola Kleerview covers are a convenient, hygienic and cost effective way to seal your homemade preserves.
You simply moisten one side of the cover with vinegar or water, if you are using a cloth to do this, ensure it is very clean. Carefully place the cover, moistened side up, over the bottle of jam or jelly whilst the jam or jelly is still hot. Secure the cover with a rubber band. The cover will become taut upon cooling. Affix the label by moistening the gum backing then placing in position on the jar.
